Hi Sam
I wonder if you can clarify the current situation. As you are aware NPTCBC have commenced the enabling work in order to demolish Godre’r Graig School.
The site which is reported by NPTCBC to be a danger to the school building is a former sandstone quarry reported to be closed on the first ordinance survey of 1877, prior to the school being opened in 1908 .
I note the minister’s comments that inclusion of sites does not mean they pose a danger and that the inclusion will mean the site is included in the inspection program.
That being the case I am confused why it is reported by the authority that the site is unsafe for any future use, which is at odds with the aims of the new regime which is to ensure the safety of the communities.
Can you tell me is the site currently a danger to the community? and if so what plans are in place to ensure it no longer poses any danger?
Can you tell me which report you are referencing as evidence that it is appropriate to be included? and the dates of the latest inspections and who undertook them?
I am perplexed that you recently stated you had not seen the ESP report :191 Darren View, which concerns unauthorised Land Form works which you reference above as ” exposures of colliery spoil material are evident immediately adjacent to the former quarry”
As I explained previously it is highly likely that we will be asking the public services ombudsman, the audit office and information commissioner to investigate the matter, a referral has not yet been made as we are awaiting further documentation and a response from the authority concerning the inconsistencies.
I am happy to discuss at your convenience.
Regards
Peter
