XXXX: This is the largest of the schemes we are putting forward and we had hoped that The Coal Authority would be able to undertake the design work for us but after initial discussions they did not have the available resources to do it as they were committed elsewhere. We are engaging with Capita to do the design work & should have their anticipated design fees in the next week or so, with a view to having the design & a firmer Budget estimate in October. I will contact in advance but Capita have been given his details as the liaison with NRW. Tips: Although NPT own the land it is currently leased to a tenant & our estates section have opened discussions about the requirements for access gates & ditching works. We are currently preparing the contract documents to procure the work through mini competition using the South West Wales Regional Civil Engineering Contractors Framework. We hope to get the tenders back early September when we will have a firmer idea of costs. XXXX Tips: Following a recent visit we have agreed with our biodiversity section that part of the site can remain wet without it having a detrimental effect on the stability of the tip. We have therefore been able to simplify the ditch & vegetation clearance the work. This has also reduced the estimated costs to £10,000.
