In 1969 the authority became responsible for all tip sites in their country. Please provide any tip inspection reports or other documentation including correspondence from that time for any tip located behind Godre’r Graig school or within the vicinity.
In 1972 the authority purchased a parcel of land located North East of Godre’r Graig school which is held on the same title deed as the school as a satellite plot. I would like all documents relating to its purchase, the reason why the authority purchased the land, and any other documentation relating to its management including any correspondence with other parties at any time.
In 1991 Godre’r Graig School suffered from water damage as a result of the drains to the rear of the playground wall becoming blocked. The authority undertook remedial work and negotiated an easement for access to the land. Please can you provide the records, correspondence and any other records relating to this incident or any other incidents at any time relating to this land which is adjacent to the playground.
In 1997, following local government reorganization, Neath Port Talbot Council carried out its own review into landslip areas, i would like to see a copy.
In 2015 spoil tip inspections were undertaken by Carmarthen Council under a service agreement, please provide all correspondence relating to that engagement.
In 2017 NPTCBC decided to bring all spoil tip inspection back in house following a review. Please provide a copy of that review and and all correspondence relating to the decision to bring that work in house.
In winter/spring 2016/2017 an enquiry was received by the NPTCBC Director of Environment from the Cabinet Member for Education requesting a landslide risk assessment on the land behind Godre’r Graig school. Please provide all correspondence relating to that request, together with all documentation related to the subsequent appointment of geotechnical engineers.
In 2019 NPTCBC published a document which is titled L44 – Godre’r Graig Tips. In a bid to the coal spoil remediation fund in 2021/22 and also 2022/23, L44 is listed and referred to in the correspondence as Cilmaengwyn tip. Please provide any documentation, internal or external relating to the name change, request for inspection and any discussion. Please also provide all correspondence relating to the request of funds from the coal remediation fund in relation to the Cilmaengwyn tip or Godre’r Graig tip.
In 2019 in the report drafted for NPTCBC Preliminary Landslide Hazard and Risk Assessment – Godre’r Graig School it is stated that ‘there is no evidence of water tanks located north west of the school’. Please can you send me all copies of correspondence between any council staff member, councilor and Earth Since Partnership relating to this, or any other concerns.
In 2021/22 NPTCBC council made representations to the consultation on the Welsh Government’s proposed Coal Spoil Tip register regarding the inclusion of quarries. Please provide copies of that correspondence.
Please can you provide any correspondence between the current and previous leaders of the council and any other parties including officers, other councilors, any assembly member, the media or other persons relating to the decision to close the school building in Godre’r Graig.
