Dear Julie,
I am passionate about tackling climate change and protecting the environment.
I write to ask you why the new Coal Soil Remediation Fund is being used to undertake hazard risk assessment on a sandstone quarry that closed over 150 years ago. Whilst i acknowledge that the some of the consultees suggested that other spoil tip types might be added to the regime at a later time, the white paper and subsequent law society review note that the terms of reference is for coal spoil tips and that further work will be required before any other tip types can be considered.
I would also like to know how the application has been approved and paid, when the landowner information appears incorrect, and the authority have repeated failed to list ‘how the problem was identified’
Please can you send me all correspondence between the coal remediation fund, your department and Neath Port Talbot Council. Please consider this as a freedom of information request.
There is widespread concern that Neath Port Talbot Council appear to have needlessly closed a school and wasted millions of pounds. Needless to say this is hardly helping to tackle the climate crises, nor tackle genuine risky spoil sites.
I would like the opportunity to speak to you concerning this.
Yours sincerely
